Orafti®P95
Description ● Orafti®P95 is a food ingredient (powder) consisting mainly of
oligofructose produced by partial enzymatic hydrolysis from chicory
inulin.
● Oligofructose consists of oligosaccharides composed of fructose units
linked together by ß-(2,1)-linkages. Part of the fructose chains are
terminated by a glucose unit. The number of fructose and glucose
units in oligofructose (Degree of Polymerization = DP) ranges mainly
between 2 and 8.

Information relevant for Nutrition Declaration
Nutritional information provided in the table shall enable food manufacturers to calculate the contribution of
Orafti®P95 in their food products in compliance with the applicable EU regulations and the US regulations as
applicable from 1st Jan. 2020 for manufacturers with minimum $10 million in annual food sales or 1st Jan.
2021 for manufacturers with less than $10 million in annual food sales.
For the U.S, the figures reflect the outcome of FDA’s scientific review of non-digestible carbohydrates that
qualify as dietary fiber of 14th June 2018. This outcome will be implemented into 21 CFR 101.9 following the
FDA rulemaking process. Values that deviate until then, are indicated and/or commented in the footnotes to
the table below.

1 Applying the energy conversion factor of 8 kJ/g or 2 kcal/g as laid down for all fibres in the EU and for all
soluble non-digestible carbohydrates in the US
2 Until change in US labelling rules (1st Jan.2020 resp. 1st Jan.2021): science based factor of 1.5 kcal/g
for inulin/oligofructose may be used
3 Saturates fats, trans fats and cholesterol negligible
4 Negligible means "0" according to applicable rounding rules
5 Applicable to US: Total carbohydrate includes dietary fibre
6 Applicable to EU: Carbohydrate does not include dietary fibre
7 Until change in US labelling rules (1st Jan.2020 resp. 1st Jan.2021): Total sugars do not include
inulobiose
