The Aji Paprika Chile is the pepper that is most commonly used to make the ground spice "paprika" that is often used as a garnish on deviled eggs or hummus. A large, red chile that is native of Hungary, it provides great visual interest to a dish as well as a slight red pepper flavor. While Hungary boldly claims this pepper, the Turks originally brought it to their country in the 16th century. It is now widely used is countries across Eastern Europe, Africa and the Americas.
