The ammonium hydroxide manufactured and supplied by Airgas Specialty Products is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) is in adherence with 21CFR184.1139 under the specific conditions listed therein. Airgas Specialty Products is also in conformance with good manufacturing practices guidelines for the applications of leavening agent, pH control, surface finishing, boiler water additive, and feed additive. The end user is responsible for using this product within the acceptable concentration ranges for GRAS purposes. Anhydrous ammonia supplied by Airgas Specialty Products is not a GRAS substance but is in adherence to 21CFR573.180 pertaining to the manufacturing and delivery practices. The end user of the product is responsible for using it properly and maintaining the adherence to code.
