Arrow Root Powder (0714)
It is a starchy substance that's extracted from the root of a
tropical plant known as Maranta arundinacea. When the
arrowroot is harvested, it looks similar to other underground
tubers such as cassava, yucca or kudzu, which are oblong in
shape.
Arrowroot is used as a vegetable and cook the root itself. However, its more common
use as a powder. It thickens gravies, puddings, jellies and sauces. In addition, it can
serve as a replacement for cornstarch and wheat flour in case of gluten allergy.
