ErySweet Ultra erythritol is a 4-carbon polyol that is 70% as sweet as sugar. It provides bulk while achieving deep calorie reductions. Erythritol occurs naturally in a wide variety of foods, including many fruits and fermented foods. Its sweetening profile is similar to sucrose with a slight cooling sensation. Of all the polyols, erythritol has the highest digestive tolerance because it is readily absorbed by the small intestine and excreted unchanged through the kidneys. Only 5% is metabolized, so calorie intake is near zero. Erythritol has the lowest molecular weight of the polyols. Erythritol adds bulk while exhibiting synergy with other sweeteners.
