With the background that the specific name should be used for ingredient labelling, the term that would be most appropriate for Orafti®HSI is inulin. In addition, BENEO considers the following further terms - including also the botanical origin or the reference to fibre - as suitable, but less specific and more liberal alternatives:  “chicory inulin”,  “inulin fibre”,  “chicory root fibre”,  “chicory root extract” Finally, the responsibility to chose an appropriate labelling for Orafti®HSI in the list of ingredients of a final food product is with the manufacturer who markets the food to the consumer.
