Nutrition Facts / Valeur Nutritive (per 100g): * Calories: 42 * Total Fat: 1g (1% DV)• Saturated Fat: 0g * Trans Fat: 0g * Cholesterol: 0mg * Sodium: 30mg (1% DV) * Total Carbohydrate: 6g (2% DV)• Dietary Fiber: 4g (14% DV) * Total Sugars: 0g * Protein: 3g * Vitamin D: 0mcg * Calcium: 150mg (10% DV) * Iron: 2.5mg (15% DV) * Potassium: 350mg (8% DV) Ingredients: Dry Molokhia Leaves Authentic Molokhia Recipe Ingredients: * 1 Whole chicken * Water * ½ onion * 1 stick Ziyad brand Cinnamon Sticks * 2 pieces Ziyad brand Cloves Whole * 2 bay leaves * 2 T Ziyad brand Coriander Whole * 2 cloves garlic, crushed * 3 T Ziyad brand oil * 1 ½ c cilantro, tightly packed – save the stems * 1 ½ c Ziyad brand Dry Molokhia * ½ t Ziyad brand brown cloves whole * Optional:• 1 T Ziyad brand Hot Red Crushed Chili Flakes * 1 T Ziyad brand Coriander Whole (coarsely crushed) * 1 T Ziyad brand Sauce Preparation: 1. Place chicken in stock pot. Add enough water to cover chicken. Add 3 cloves garlic, coriander, and only cilantro stems. Bring to a boil. 2. Lower heat, cover, and cook 30 minutes. 3. While chicken is cooking, make a paste out of the 2 heads of garlic, ½ t brown cloves, and 2 T oil. Stir through molokhia, removing any stems. 4. Skim fat off top of broth. Remove chicken, strain the stock, and keep 6 c broth. 5. Place molokhia in stock pot. Strain and squeeze out excess water. Add 6 c broth and bring to boil. Add the garlic mixture and molokhia paste. Add cilantro and mix well. 6. Add ½ t crushed red chili for an extra kick. 7. Add 2 T chopped coriander and cook for 20 minutes. 8. Add Ziyad brand sauce and cook for an additional 15 minutes to enhance flavor. 9. Serve with rice, fresh lemon juice, or diced onions mixed with cider vinegar.
