Magrabar PD-3500 is prepared from canola oil, food grade emulsifiers, hydrophobic silica, carnauba wax and mixed tocopherols. The regulations for the labeling of ingredients are complex. Several exemptions from labeling requirements are listed in 21CFR 101.100. Antifoams are often considered exempt from labeling under the definition of incidental additives, specifically processing aids in 101.100 (a) (3). However, this determination can only be made by the food manufacturer with knowledge of the products and processes in which the antifoam is used.
