Diced means peeled, trimmed and cleaned onions, which have been cut into approximate square pieces. The unpeeled yellow organic onions are of the Spanish Sweet Variety raised typical of the Idaho Oregon growing area. The prepared onions shall be free from all root and stem portions and all desiccated, dark or tough layers of skin. Tough core material, if present, must be removed and all damaged, diseased, bruised, discolored or otherwise defective portions are to be removed by hand preparation. The diced product is then blanched and quick frozen in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices. All onions packaged at Partners Produce are for further processing and are NOT considered an RTE product.
