Our Tocopherols and Phytosterols are derived from vegetable oil deodorizer distillate (DOD), which is a side stream from the final stage of the production of edible vegetable oil. During the refining process of crude oil, oil is first degummed, then neutralized and finally deodorized. As a result of all these purifying processes, protein content found in DOD is extremely low. Tocopherols present in DOD are then obtained after several industrial processes in our Plant. This includes distillation, chemical modification and crystallization. They are further purified and undergo separation via molecular distillation under high temperatures (>200°C) and very low pressures. These processes are likely to further reduce the presence of allergenic proteins below detectable limits. To confirm the absence of proteins in our finished products, analysis have been carried in a European certified laboratory, with results showing negative PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) content, below method’s detection limit. The other ingredient present in final product is highly refined Sunflower oil, which is considered not allergenic. No derivatives from wheat, barley, oat and their hybridized lines; gluten; crustaceans; eggs; fish; peanuts; soybean; milk of all types from mammal animals; tree nuts (almond, hazelnut, chestnut, macadamia, pecan, pistachio, pinoli, others); celery; mustard; sesame; sulphur dioxide and sulphites; mollusks; lupines or natural latex are neither used as ingredients, nor present in our plant. Based on this, we think it is unlikely that our product line could trigger a severe allergic reaction in susceptible individuals.
