Susterra® GST Propanediol is a high-purity, bio-based 1,3-propanediol (PDO) specifically designed for use in polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) polymer production. Derived from renewable, corn-based feedstocks, Susterra® GST enables the manufacture of high-performance polymers while supporting sustainability and reduced reliance on fossil-based raw materials.
In polymer applications, Susterra® GST Propanediol is reacted with terephthalic acid (or dimethyl terephthalate) through standard melt polymerization processes to produce PTT polymers with excellent mechanical performance, elasticity, and resilience. The product’s high purity and tight specification control support consistent polymerization behavior, molecular weight development, and end-use performance. Susterra® GST delivers equivalent performance to conventional petro-based PDO while offering a significantly improved renewable carbon profile. It is suitable for fiber, textile, and engineered polymer applications where durability, stretch recovery, and long-term performance are critical.
