The Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) requires the label of a food to declare the presence of major food allergens. The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA) amended the FD&C Act to define eight major food allergens and was further amended by the Food Allergy Safety Treatment Education and Research (FASTER) Act to add sesame as the ninth major food allergen. The nine major food allergens as defined by FDA (21 U.S.C. 321, paragraph qq) are as follows: Milk* Egg Fish (e.g., bass, flounder, cod) Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp) Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, pecans, walnuts) Wheat Peanuts Soybeans Sesame The packaging supplied by Toppan for your food contact application is not known to contain the above major food allergens as defined by FDA, with the following exception: • One or more materials used to manufacture this product contain casein, a milk derivative*. Furthermore, the following are not known to be present: Sulfur dioxide Sulfites Gluten Mustard Celery Lupin Peas These statements are based on documents from our raw material suppliers and knowledge of our manufacturing equipment and process.
