Baobab Fruit Powder is made from the fruit of the iconic baobab tree, native to both Africa and Australia. Other names for the baobab tree include "the tree of life," the "upside down tree" and "monkey bread tree." The large, towering tree has many uses, including shelter (due to its massive size), clothing and food for humans and animals alike. Its massive tree trunk is capable of storing an immense amount of useable water as well. The baobab fruit has a shell with a velvet-like texture, and contains seeds covered in pulp. To make baobab powder, the pulp of the fruit is dried then ground, resulting in a fine beige powder that can be used in healthy snacks and beverages. Baobab Fruit Powder has a unique tart flavor reminiscent of a lemon combined with a mango. It is tart, and slightly sweet. Baobab Fruit Powder also has unique nutritional and culinary properties.
