Maamoul is a shortbread-like pastry filled with date paste. The dough, typically made from flour, butter, and a touch of sugar, is wrapped around a soft date filling and shaped using molds and bottom lined with pistachio slices. The pastries are baked until golden.
Baked at high temperatures (≥ 180°C) ensuring safety from harmful microbes. Date paste is typically pasteurized to enhance safety. Packed in food-grade, hygienic packaging to avoid contamination. Subject to regular microbiological and quality control testing.
