Although called ginseng, it is not actually ginseng and has different chemical constituents to ginseng.
The roots of the plant are primarily used for their adaptogenic properties, although they are also known to boost energy. Adaptogens are botanicals that help the body resist physical, environmental, and emotional stressors.
Eleutherosides are the main components of the root and there are seven primary eleutherosides in Siberian ginseng, with eleutherosides B (syringin) and E (syringaresinol) being the most studied. Siberian ginseng also contains complex polysaccharides, lignans, coumarins, phytosterols, saponins and many other phytonutrients.*
